“County Durham CCG is launching Seriously in their local area to raise awareness of the issue to their local communities. County Durham CCG is the highest prescriber of antibiotics per patient population in the country despite ongoing reductions over the past few years, with the support of this campaign they hope to make a big difference to these figures.
The Seriously campaign aims to raise awareness of Antibiotic Resistance – a serious issue. Through it’s campaign content, Seriously educates people on appropriate use and alternative treatments. This campaign aims to raise awareness of the issue of antibiotic resistance, reduce misuse of the treatment and encourage individuals to consider the alternatives and effective self care.
The Seriously Campaign was created in Leeds (2016) in response to growing antibiotic prescription rates and outbreaks of resistant strains of infection amongst their student population. Since then the campaign has evolved to include audiences across Sunderland, South Tyneside and now County Durham.”
