Proof of COVID Vaccination


If you require proof for travel, you can download the free NHS app. From the 17th May 2021, you will be able to display evidence of vaccination within the app.

If you require a paper copy, you must telephone 119. The practice dose not provide evidence of COVID Vaccination status.

International Vaccinations

If you had a COVID Vaccine outside of England, it is not currently possible to add this to the NHS COVID Pass. The practice is unable to do this, as we have not been given the technical ability to do so. If you would like to query this further, please do not contact the surgery as we are unable to amend this or exempt you from requiring proof of vaccination. Please call 119 who are better placed to help.

NHS Digital are able to include MHRA-approved vaccines administered abroad in the NHS COVID Pass. There are no plans to include non-MHRA approved vaccines (e.g. Sinovac, Sinopharm) in the NHS COVID Pass.

Tell the NHS about coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations you’ve had abroad

The December 2021 government announcement regarding proof of vaccination as part of their “Plan B” scenario will require proof of vaccination or a recent negative lateral flow test before certain large events. If you are unable to show your overseas vaccinations in the NHS COVID Pass, the rules for a “Plan B” scenario state:

International visitors
If you were vaccinated in another country, you can show alternative proof of vaccination if this is accepted at the UK border. International visitors can also show a valid text or email confirmation of a negative rapid lateral flow or PCR test from NHS Test and Trace. (Gov UK)

The practice can make a note of overseas vaccines in your medical record, however this will not transfer to the COVID Pass and will not be valid for travel or other activities that require the official NHS COVID Pass.

We are unable to provide evidence of vaccination for travel purposes.
