Dr Stephen Whitfield
Senior GP Partner

Dr Whitfield works from both the Claypath Medical Centre as well as the University Health Centre. Dr Whitfield undertakes the role of GP Trainer. His special interests include minor surgery and joint injection, and GP Education.
Dr Jan Panke
State Exam Med 1997 Gottingen, Germany; MRCGP 2002 UK,
Dr Panke works primarily from the Claypath Medical Centre and his surgeries are usually held on Mondays and Thursdays. He is also trained in non-scalpel vasectomies and over the last 15 years has performed over 2,500 vasectomies. In addition he provides clinical leadership to the North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group. In June, 2019, he took up the Clinical Director post for the Claypath and University Primary Care Network. His other interests are in ophthalmology and men’s health.
Dr Andrew Kent
BM BCh Oxford 1981 BSc MRCGP
Dr Kent works from both the Claypath Medical Centre and the University Health Centre. Dr Kent’s special interests include diabetes, mental health and substance misuse.
Dr Alice Walling
MB BS 1984 Newcastle MRCGP
Dr Walling works from both the Claypath Medical Centre and University Health Centre. Her special interest is in young people/student welfare. Dr Walling was previously a GP Partner with the practice for many years but has recently reduced her hours and is now working as a Salaried GP.
Dr Stephen Dellar
MA (Cantab); MB BChir (Cantab) 2004; MRCGP; DRCOG; DFFP
Dr Dellar joined the practice in February, 2008. He works from both the Claypath Medical Centre and University Health Centre. Dr Dellar undertakes the role of a GP Trainer and is the practice Prescribing Lead. He also takes a lead on research studies undertaken by the practice. He has a special interest in diabetes.
Dr Alexandra Milne
MB BS 2007 Newcastle; BSc; MRCGP
Dr Milne joined the practice in September, 2012, as a Salaried GP and became a GP Partner in January, 2016. Dr Milne works from both practice surgeries. She is a GP Trainer and her special interests are in elderly care and gynaecology.
Dr Graham Peat
MB BS 2009 Newcastle; MRCS; MRCGP
Dr Peat joined the practice as a Salaried GP on 1st September, 2016. He works from both practice surgeries. Dr Peat’s special interests include minor surgery, joint injections and “Scalpel-free” vasectomies.
He is from Durham Dales and enjoys time outside running, cycling and walking his Bedlington terrier.
Dr Michael Mason

Dr Mason joined the practice as a Salaried GP on 8th December, 2014. He works from both practice surgeries.
Dr Michael Smith

Dr Smith joined our practice as a Salaried GP on 13th March, 2017. He works from both practice surgeries. Dr Smith’s special interests are in IT, Clinical Commissioning, and Frailty.
Dr Susan McDevitte
MB BCh 2000 Belfast; DRCOG; DCH, DFFP, DTMH
Dr McDevitte is joining our practice as a Salaried GP on 2nd October, 2017. She will work from both practice surgeries. Dr McDevitte’s special interests are in sexual health, young people/student welfare.
Dr Stewart Elliot
MB BS 2012 (Newcastle); BSc; PhD; MRCGP Dr Elliott joined the practice on 8th August, 2017, as a Salaried GP on the GP Career Start Scheme. He will be known to some patients as he recently completed his GP training as a Registrar in the practice. He works from both practice surgeries. Dr Elliott’s special interest is in medical education.
Dr Deborah Skelton

Dr Skelton joined the practice as a Salaried GP on 10th February, 2020. She will be known to some patients as she trained as a GP Registrar in the practice. Dr Skelton works form both practice surgeries. Her special interest in in palliative medicine.
