If you’re self isolating you may need help with everyday tasks like shopping or picking up prescriptions. There are several organisations who can help you. If you have any questions about the available support, or need more help, please contact the surgery and ask to speak to our Social Prescriber.
You can request help from NHS Volunteer Responders with shopping, prescription pick ups, or if you would just like a friendly phone call every now and then. Call them on 0808 196 3646 (8am to 8pm, 7 days a week), or find out more here.
If you are over 50 and need support with shopping, prescription collection, a friendly chat or even a delivery of books, jigsaws and games then you can contact Age UK on 0191 386 3856 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) or find out more here.
Durham County Council can provide help and advice about where to get food from if you are self isolating. This includes advice on volunteer shopping cards, priority delivery slots and food parcels. Contact them on 03000 260 260 (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday) or find out more here.
